Personal Bio: Pastor Mark Morgenstern was born in Dayton, Ohio and grew up in Lakewood, Colorado, a western suburb of Denver. He graduated from Dana College in Blair, Nebraska in 1974 with a B.A. Degree in Theatre and Speech. Pastor Mark graduated from Wartburg Theological Seminary in Dubuque, Iowa in December of 1978 with a Master of Divinity Degree. He was ordained into the ministry on January 28, 1979 at his home congregation, Holy Shepherd Lutheran Church in Lakewood, Colorado. He has served congregations in Hildreth, Nebraska; Pickrell, Nebraska; Earlville, Dyersville and Epworth, IA and Sidney, MT. He also served two years as Associate Director and then Director of Nebraska Lutheran Outdoor Ministries in Ashland, Nebraska. Along with his duties as Sr. Pastor at Atonement, Pastor Mark also is Adjunct Staff for Evangelism with the Montana Synod of the ELCA and serves on the Board of Directors of Christikon Lutheran Bible Camp. Pastor Mark’s hobbies include fishing, hunting, photography, reading and computers.

Personal Bio: Pastor Maryann was born in Scottsdale, Arizona; the fifth in a family with five brothers. She grew up in Arizona loving the outdoors. Pr. Maryann attended Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona working towards a degree in Administrative Recreation. She then moved to Nebraska, complete her Bachelor of Science degree in Recreation while raise her two children. She married Mark Morgenstern in March of 1989 and they blended together their children to make five! They moved to Dubuque, Iowa where she attended Wartburg Theological Seminary. She graduated in December 1994 and was ordained on May 29, 1995. Pastor Maryann was called to serve Pella Lutheran Church in Sidney, Montana beginning June 1, 1995. On July 1, 2002 Pastor Maryann accepted a call to serve the saints of Atonement Lutheran Church in Billings.

Job Title: Director of Atonement Preschool & Parish Assistant

Personal Bio: Julie has a degree in elementary education from Montana State University, Bozeman. She had experience teaching 1st grade, 3rd grade, 7th grade in the public school. Julie has worked with preschool children in a daycare setting and also the children’s program in an interdenominational Bible Study. Before becoming the director of Atonement Lutheran Preschool, she taught Kindergarten at Billings Christian school for two years. Julie has been the director for the two and one-half years that the preschool at Atonement has been in operation. She enjoys children, the staff of four teachers and interacting with the parents. In her spare time, Julie quilts, does scrap-biking and camps with the family. Julie and her husband, Gary, have been members of Atonement Lutheran Church since 1987 and are Montana natives. They have two sons—John is in college at Bozeman and Mike is a Senior at Skyview High School
